Privacy policy

Effective October 5, 2026

This policy covers the Fist of the Unicorns Domain at fotus.net, including the public helmet, community pages, command app, and the iOS and Android shells that open that app. The clan operates it. Questions go to support@fotus.net or info@fotus.net.

What we collect

If you sign in with Discord, Microsoft, Steam, or Epic Games, we receive the identity that service chooses to share: an account id, a username or gamertag, and an avatar when one is available. Microsoft sign-in is how the Domain reads an Xbox gamertag. We never ask for, see, or store the password for those services. Those passwords stay on their own pages.

The command passphrase is only for the FOTUS owner account. Public email sign-up is closed. If a member is 13 or older and adds them, we store a display name, bio, banner, birthdate, linked handles, a phone number, and which SMS notices they want. A birthdate is kept only so the Domain can mark that member's nameday. SMS is optional. The choices are excommunications, important announcements, or all announcements.

We store what you post: helmet inscriptions, community chat, command chat, contact requests, and ban appeals. Inscriptions and the public blacklist are visible to visitors. We also keep enforcement records, ranks, and leadership notes that belong to the clan history.

For security we store a session cookie, the IP address and browser or app identifier of a signed-in session, and the time of sign-in. The sound switch for voice lines is saved on your device only. We do not use it to track you across other sites.

How we use it

We use this information to run the roster, chat, timeline, map, blacklist, appeals, and the command app; to recognize you on return; to send email you asked for; and to send SMS only if you opted in and only for the topics you picked. Leadership uses it to enforce timeouts, bans, and blacklist entries. Excommunications are separate: a clanwide monthly draw posted to the clan, not an enforcement record. If you opted into that notice, we may text it.

Who else sees it

We do not sell personal information. Gamertags are public. The Domain speaks to people by tag, in chat, on the roster, on the helmet, in announcements, and on the blacklist when a tag is part of the record. Public pages also show inscriptions and announced enforcement. Sign-in providers see that you started their login. Email and SMS, if you use them, are delivered by the services that send those messages. We share other information if the law requires it, or to protect members from abuse of the Domain.

How long we keep it

Account details stay while the account is open. You can email support to correct or delete them. Session cookies end when you sign out or they expire. Blacklist and enforcement records can remain as clan history after an account is closed, with the reason that was recorded.

Member safety

Member safety is the top priority. Before a new account can enter the command app, that person must answer the membership question already on record for the role they claim. Those questions and answers are the clan's existing verification. We do not ask leadership to write a new one. People who cannot answer do not enter as members.

All ages

The Domain is open to every age. A member who is 13 or older may hold their own account. Anyone under 13 may be in the app only when a parent or legal guardian also has their own account and has given a signed consent form.

We do not store a minor's legal name, birthday, email, or phone number, and we do not keep private messages as that child's file. Their gamertag is public, because that is how the clan communicates. The consent form asks for the parent: their name, their email, their own account, and their signature. If a child's private details were sent to us by mistake, we delete them and do not keep a copy.

Your choices

Sign out from the command app to end the session on that device. Leave the phone number blank if you do not want SMS. Change SMS topics in account settings. Turn voice lines off in settings or with the sounds switch on the public helmet. File a ban appeal from the contact page if you were removed. Email support@fotus.net to ask what we hold about you, to fix it, or to delete the account.
